Ronnie n’ Co going for gold

TIPPED ... Ronnie O'Sullivan

SNOOKER’S big guns will have an extra trophy to compete for at this year’s Betfair World Championship — the Golden Cue.

The likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan and Mark Selby can get their hands on the sparkling bit of kit — and a £10,000 cheque — by registering the highest break of the tournament.
World Snooker chairman Barry Hearn said: "The Betfair Golden Cue adds an extra element of excitement to what is already the most widely anticipated Championship in history.
"The players are so good these days that we expect to see a barrage of high breaks and, who knows, perhaps a 147.
"The competition for the Golden Cue will be intense."
The Betfair World Championship start on April 20, with defending champion O'Sullivan taking on Scotland's Marcus Campbell.
