Brendan fits the Bill

ONE FALSE MOVE ... Rodgers' Reds are waiting to take advantage of any mistakes

BRENDAN RODGERS admits his dream is to become Anfield’s new Bill Shankly.

The Liverpool boss’ first season in charge has been hit and miss.
But Rodgers says the club is in a similar state to when legend Shanks arrived in December 1959.
He said: “My job is to build the club again, like Bill Shankly did very successfully in setting up the successful eras everyone remembers Liverpool for.
“There is no comparison to the greats of the past — Shankly and Bob Paisley will always be remembered here.
“I am trying to replicate what Shanks did and it’s a huge challenge because the club is an institution.
“I have seen progress this season, which I’d expect to continue over the next couple of years.
“It is important we are not held hostage to our history but the wonderful players and managers we have had provide the inspiration for us to try and recreate those memories.”
