PREMIER League clubs WILL be forced to curb their spending from next season.
The controls, suggested in February, were confirmed yesterday.It limits player wage increases and means clubs will only be allowed to make maximum losses of £105million over three years.
But profits from player sales will not be part of the spending restrictions on salaries.
Former Arsenal vice-chairman David Dein, though, warned: “There’s going to have to be a lot of vigilance to make sure people don’t try to get around it.”
Any club breaching the rules could be hit with points deduction.
Of the top flight sides Manchester City, Chelsea, Aston Villa and Liverpool reported losses of more than £105million over the last three years.
