Mancini in blast at Utd

Roberto Mancini

ROBERTO MANCINI saw his team cut the gap at the top to 13 points — then moaned that Manchester United had been given a helping hand at West Ham.

City have a game in hand and boss Mancini was angry they are not closer as Robin van Persie’s leveller at Upton Park should have been disallowed.
He said: “If they hadn’t scored an offside goal it would be even fewer points. We could have got it down to nine.”
Carlos Tevez settled the Cup final dress rehearsal with a stunning late winner that was cruel on lowly Wigan. Mancini admitted: “It was difficult because we played three days ago and we were so tired.
“In the second half we started so-so, but it was a great goal and Carlos is a top-quality player.”
A misfiring City were indebted to keeper Joe Hart for a brilliant stop to deny Franco Di Santo.
Wigan remain in the bottom three and boss Roberto Martinez said: “It’s very hard to take. But if we play like that in every game of the season, we will be OK. This performance was exactly what we will need.
“We were the better side and limited City to two shots on target. With the chances we had, it’s hard to explain how we didn’t get the points.”
