Oui want Rafa

Rafa Benitez

RAFA BENITEZ is top of Monaco’s wanted list.

But the interim Chelsea manager is waiting to see what happens at Manchester City, Tottenham and Real Madrid before making any decisions on his future.
Monaco, the fallen 2004 Champions League finalists, are seven points clear at the top of the French Second Division — and are now preparing for their return to the big-time.
And their Russian billionaire owner Dmitriy Rybolovlev wants a big name to take over from former Blues boss Claudio Ranier at the Stade Louis II.
Benitez, 53, is top of Rybolovlev’s hitlist despite his struggles to win over the Chelsea fans during his five-month tenure at Stamford Bridge.
Rybolovlev, ranked among the world’s 120 richest people with a fortune estimated by Forbes of around £6billion, wants Monaco to take on big-spending Paris Saint-Germain for the Ligue 1 title next year.
And he is prepared to pay whatever it takes to get the right man in place.
Benitez, though, has dreams of his own and is convinced there will be a major managerial shake-up at the European powerhouses come the end of the season.
With Jose Mourinho set to leave Real Madrid and Roberto Mancini’s future uncertain at Manchester City, Benitez believes a number of top jobs will become available over the summer.
The former Liverpool and Inter Milan boss is determined not to sell himself short and insists he will only work for a club capable of challenging for major honours.
He still dreams of taking charge at his beloved Real Madrid, but knows the Spanish giants are keen on Tottenham coach Andre Villas-Boas.
However, he has launched a major charm offensive in recent weeks aimed at convincing potential employers of the fine job he has done in impossible conditions at Chelsea.
And while he is not going to rush into any hasty decisions, his advisors are already quietly working on his next move.
It took him two years to find another job after being sacked by Inter Milan in 2010 and he does not want to be out of the game for long when his Chelsea deal ends in May.
Monaco are ready to pay him £1m-a-year to replace Ranieri, who has taken them storming towards promotion in his first season in charge.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are investigating abuse directed at Yossi Benayoun from their OWN fans.
The Israel midfielder, 32, believes he has been a target since commenting on Fernando Torres after the Europa League match at Sparta Prague in February, when he backed the Spaniard to rediscover his form.
Benayoun came on at Anfield on Sunday in the 2-2 draw with his former club Liverpool and took to Twitter following further abuse.
He tweeted: “Disappointing result yesterday, always great to go back to Liverpool... really grateful for the warm reception from the fans as always.
“The booing came from some small part of the Chelsea fans that have been doing it in the last few weeks since I did an interview about Torres.
“Sometimes people are crossing the limit. I’m sure the club will sort it.”
Chelsea are also taking on Juventus in a bid to force the Italians to a FIFA dispute panel. They are seeking compensation over former striker Adrian Mutu, who was sacked after testing positive for cocaine in 2004.
The Romanian went on to play for Juve and Livorno and the Blues have battled since to reclaim the cash they lost signing him.
Mutu, 34, who is now at Corsican side Ajaccio, was ordered to pay Chelsea £14.5m compensation but has not done so. And the club are now pursuing legal action against Juventus and Livorno, holding them liable for payment because they signed him for nothing.
