Two gongs would be incrediBale

HAIL BALE ... Spurs ace with gong in 2011

GARETH BALE is desperate to land his second PFA Player of the Year gong.

The Tottenham flyer won the award for the 2010-11 season.
And he is nominated again with Manchester United duo Robin van Persie and Michael Carrick, Chelsea pair Juan Mata and Eden Hazard along with Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
Odds-on favourite Bale will find out on Sunday night whether he is to join the likes of Alan Shearer, Cristiano Ronaldo and Thierry Henry in winning the prize twice.
The Welshman, who is also nominated in the Young Player of the Year category, said: “It’s massive. It’s great for your peers to vote for you.
“Hopefully I do win. To be nominated is fantastic and fingers crossed.”
Bale came off the bench to score as Tottenham came from behind to stun Manchester City in a 3-1 win at White Hart Lane yesterday.
And the winger, who has just returned from an ankle injury, is keen to take the confidence from the game and seal a top-four finish for his side this season.
He added: “We knew it was a massive game and the lads showed what we have in the team — a lot of character.
“It was a fantastic turnaround. As soon as we scored the first everyone had that belief and confidence, the fans raised the noise and gave us that belief to go forward and thankfully we were able to score two more.
“We need to keep that character, team spirit, and togetherness in to the last five games and push for our objectives this season.”
